Job Title: Security & Law Enforcement (Master-at-Arms)

Overview: As a Master-at-Arms (MA) Sailor, you will play a critical role in providing security, antiterrorism, and law enforcement capabilities. Your mission will be to protect personnel, installations, ships, and strategic assets both domestically and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct antiterrorism and force protection patrols.
  • Stand sentry and manage access control at secure areas.
  • Perform inspections to detect unauthorized items and enforce regulations.
  • Respond to service calls and investigate incidents.
  • Collect evidence and prepare detailed reports.
  • Manage crowd control during events and emergencies.
  • Operate and maintain various weapons and security vehicles.
  • Support high-value unit escorts and expeditionary missions.
  • Supervise and train junior security personnel.

What to Expect: Work in a fast-paced, armed environment where attention to detail and professionalism are crucial. Expect to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and manage stress when responding to emergencies. Continuous training and qualifications are required, leading to roles with increasing responsibilities such as patrol supervisor or investigator.

Work Environment: Your assignments will include Navy installations and ships, with opportunities for overseas and forward-deployed tours. You will work closely with other security forces and law enforcement agencies.

Training & Advancement: Following Recruit Training, you will attend Master-at-Arms Class A School to learn essential skills in law enforcement and security operations. As you progress, you'll have opportunities for advanced training and specialized roles.

Qualifications: Candidates must meet general enlistment standards, which include:

  • Eligibility to serve in the U.S. Navy.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Meeting age and medical requirements.
  • Achieving required test scores.
  • Eligibility for security clearance.

Additional qualifications include a strong moral character and the ability to work in uniform while carrying firearms. Willingness to accept deployment and assignments to various locations is essential.
