PT - Electronics Lab Technician (Grant-Funded)

Salary: $19.00 per hour.

Summary of Function: Grant Funded. Provides technical and instructionalsupport for the Electronics program. Responsibilities include assisting in the development, maintenance, and delivery of lab activities, maintaining professional standards and practices, and mentoring students in the Electronics Technician program. The role involves collaboration with faculty to enhance teaching methodologies and delivery systems, ultimately contributing to student academic success and retention.

Typical Duties:

• Responsibility as an Instructor:
• Serves students.
• Provide assistance to instructor to teach electronics courses and labs, develop and grade exams and instruments.
• Maintain office hours and engage in direct interaction with students in a formal learning environment.
• Provides assistance to the instructor as it relates to the set-up, maintenance, and repair inventory of the electronics equipment, instructional materials, and consumables associated with the classrooms and lab environment.
• Remain current in the discipline, updating course content as directed by course instructor.
• Work with the CEO, Associate Dean of Reskilling & Technology, the Director of Manufacturing, electronics instructor, and departmental faculty, assist to develop and implement processes and tools for assessment of teaching and student learning outcomes incorporating appropriate methodologies and technology.
• Responsibility to the College:
• Work and coordinate with Student Services by actively participating in student recruitment, retention, and advisement activities and programs
• Work with colleagues, serving as a resource for faculty members
• Responsibility to the Community:
• Participate in professional developmental activities outside the College, such as but not limited to, technical training, community events, boards, clubs, and conferences. Coordinate such participation with Director, Associate Dean or Vice President as appropriate.
• If directed, serve on local and state advisory committees as directed by the Vice-President, Associate Dean, or Director.
• Additional Responsibility:
• Assist with procurement of equipment, materials, and supplies to support courses of primary responsibility.
• Work with regional electronics / manufacturing employers to help develop and support intern, research, and work experiences for students at all levels.
• Support and participate in strategic initiatives and perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a related field
• OR
• Associate's degree and two (2) years of experience in the field
• OR
• Three (3) years of work experience associated with more than two below- listed discipline(s)
• Electrical Fundamentals
• Electronic Communication
• Calibration
• Data Acquisition
• Data Analysis

Additional Eligibility Requirements:

• Valid drivers' license
• Professional Licensure/Specialized certificate(s)

Position Type & Work Schedule:

• Part-time
• Up to 19 hours per week
• May require a flexible schedule
• Days and times are dependent on course or program schedule, departmental and/or institutional need

• Knowledge of academic or industry-based discipline and skills being taught
• Skill in managing one's own time
• Skill in current technologies and word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Office applications, Windows
• Ability to demonstrate and engage in strong facilitation skills
• Ability to complete all departmental and/or institutional mandatory training or development
• Ability to communicate professionally, verbally, in writing, and in a public setting
• Ability to maintain an organized and industry-relevant program learning environment
• Ability to efficiently manage time, prioritize and meet deadlines
• Ability to work productively and effectively with diverse populations of students, faculty, and staff
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other department staff, faculty, students and the public

Work Environment:

• Inside classroom, lab, or office environment with normal noise and lighting levels
• Outside instructional or lab area
• Expected working conditions relevant for industrial specific environments in Arizona
• Working environment may include various locations across the service district, indoor and/or outdoor locations as needed to support instructional, departmental or institutional needs

Physical Demands:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and viewing of a computer
• Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking
• May lift, carry, push, and/or pull at least 25 pounds
• Occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and/or twist

Travel:

• Required to travel to other locations using various modes of private, commercial, or fleet transportation, and as needed to support department and institutional needs

• Not Benefit Eligible
• Personal Vehicle Needed for Travel
• Position is Grant Funded (CFCP) - Subject to Continued Funding
