Police Officer (Non-Certified)

We are looking for someone to join Team Yuma as a Police Officer (Non-Certified), working with the City of Yuma Police Department. PAY, HIRING BONUS, AND MOVING ALLOWANCE

The City of Yuma follows a 10-step pay plan ranging from $30.1539 - $42.4903 per hour. Non-certified applicants will start at the entry pay of $30.1539 hourly. There is a $1,000 sign on bonus, for new hires, after successful completion of the one-year probationary period. In addition, any new hire that relocates to the City of Yuma from outside the region will be eligible for a moving allowance of up to $2,000 to cover the costs of relocation.

SELECTION PROCESS

All applications will be screened by Human Resources for the minimum requirements. All applicants will be notified of their status by email. Those that meet the minimum requirements will be required to complete a Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ).

HIRING PROCESS

Below are steps that must be completed prior to hire, these steps may not be conducted in the order listed. An email notification will be sent to the applicant prior to the beginning of each step in the process:

1. Written - Candidates will be invited to complete an online Police Entry Level Exam.
2. Candidates may purchase a study guide and/or practice test.
3. Peace Officer Physical Aptitude Test (POPAP)
4. Information regarding the POPAP and minimum standards for certification can be found on the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (AZ POST) website.
5. Oral Interview
6. Background Interview - PHQ required for this step (See link in the Selection Process section).
7. Background Investigation
8. Polygraph Exam
9. Psychological Exam
10. Medical/Drug Screening
11. Police Academy
