About the Role:

ReferWell is hiring a Director of Provider Operations to oversee a high-performing Provider Practice Operations team and lead service delivery. This role requires a bilingual (Spanish/English) leader based in Arizona, with experience managing clinical workflows and referral operations. This person will be responsible for driving patient outreach performance, optimizing workflows, managing referral authorizations, and presenting results to clients and internal executives. The Director of Provider Operations will report directly to the Chief Customer Officer.


This is a remote role that follows Pacific Standard Time (PST) hours. It blends operational leadership with client-facing accountability and is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced healthcare settings, is comfortable working independently and, in particular, those with a deep understanding with multi-speciality provider practice operations.


Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the day-to-day lead for a large multi-site provider client, overseeing the team's operations and performance
  • Manage and mentor a team of Care Navigators delivering referral management services
  • Ensure effective referral workflows, including authorization management and tracking of patient engagement outcomes
  • Build and present reports on key metrics, sharing insights with both clients and internal stakeholders
  • Refine internal processes, develop scalable workflows, and support implementation of best practices
  • Drive program expansion and support additional client engagements


Qualifications:

  • Based in Arizona
  • Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written)
  • Travel is required (33% - 50% of time) with rest of time at-home
  • 5+ years of healthcare experience working within a multi-site provider practice
  • Knowledge of referral authorization processes and patient scheduling
  • Background in workflow optimization, vendor management, or project development
  • Proven ability to design and deliver performance reporting for clients or leadership teams


Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency with NexGen, Epic, or other EMRs
  • Large provider practice multi-site office management experience
  • Ability to work independently, self-starter
  • Strong skills in Excel and Google Sheets
  • Experience presenting program metrics to executives or senior leadership
  • Understanding of HIPAA and healthcare contact center technologies


Compensation:

$135,000 - $150,000 + full benefits.
