NATURE OF WORKFacilitates monetary court order enforcement through a centralized collections unit. Performs cross-functional work in managing judicial collections to ensure the prompt, efficient, and uniform enforcement of court orders and collections of monies owed to the Superior Court, three Justice Courts, Adult Probation and Juvenile Court.
Nature of Work
(Illustrative Only) Provides customer service; responds to inquiries made in person and by phone; investigates and clarifies questions; researches case and payment information; manages court payment plans to ensure financial obligations are met. Performs interviews and gathers information to set up payment plans; evaluates amounts to be paid and related factors to establish plan parameters; determines monthly payment amounts and identifies solutions to achieve payment plan compliance; sets up and maintains accurate files and records to monitor payment records and history; determines if contact is required to bring the obligor into compliance; uses a variety of court collection methods and techniques; checks records and documents for completeness and accuracy for processing and/or further action; receipts, reconciles, and balances collected monies from multiple courts in a centralized collections unit environment; prepares financial reports and documentation; processes payments of various tender types and from multiple payment service providers; enters monies and case events into multiple court case management systems; serves as a Superior Court Special Commissioner to review fee waiver and deferral applications; determines applicants' eligibility and repayment qualifications; coordinates the inter-departmental case processing and tracking with the Superior Court Clerk's Office; runs sensitive data reports to verify and obtain accurate person contact information; may serve as the Tax Intercept Program backup; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customer records, and restricted Court information; abides by the Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees; performs related duties as required or assigned.
Experience and Education
High School Diploma or equivalent AND three years of clerical and computer experience that includes bookkeeping, accounting, record keeping and/or collections or closely related duties; OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: This classification requires the applicant to pass criminal background checks; a valid Arizona State Driver's License may be required; Arizona Committee on Judicial Education and Training (COJET) yearly accreditation is required; Employees in this classification are required to be appointed as a Superior Court Special Commissioner and Deputized by the Clerk of Court. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in a standard office environment and Court facilities.

Knowledge of: Applicable State of Arizona statutes, rules, administrative orders, operational policies and procedures, federal rules and requirements; Yuma County and Superior Court policies and procedures; Superior Court in Yuma County- Rules of the Judicial Merit System and the Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees; paraprofessional accounting and bookkeeping practices; basic principles and practices of Superior and Justice Court collections case management and skip tracing; Arizona Judicial Automated Case System (AJACS) and Tax Intercept (TIP) software; legal terminology and court processes and procedures; modern office procedures and terminology.
Skills in: Interacting with people of different social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds; working under pressure in a dynamic work environment with changing demands and priorities; maintaining complex financial records.; coordinating, monitoring, and training work assignments; preparing statistical and financial reports; reviewing for completeness, accuracy and compliance with statues, rules and specific requirements; operating a personal computer utilizing both standard and specialized AOC software applications; entering, adjusting, and retrieving data; and making mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately; developing and maintaining interpersonal skills for working with a diverse group of individuals that include judges, court staff, litigants, attorneys and the general public.

Medical Coverage Category
The YCEBT is a self-funded medical plan administered by BlueCross BlueShield of Arizona (BCBSAZ). The employee is able to select from three (3) medical plan options with six (6) tiers that will best suit the employee's needs, dependents or families.
Plan Option 1: Preferred Provider Option A (PPO) or PPO A 1100 deductible. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing three steps.
Plan Option 2: Preferred Provider Option B (PPO) or PPO B 1,500 deductible. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing three steps.
Plan Option 3: High Deductible High Plan - Health Savings Account (HDHP-HSA) with a 1700 deductible. Employees who participate in the " Wellness Incentive" will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing three steps.
Employer contributes a total of $800.04 to employees Health Savings Account. If employees select Employee only and participate in the " Wellness Incentive" employees can receive up to 360.00 contribution to a Limited Purpose FSA card to be used for medical or dental purposes.
Southwest Service Administrator (SSA) Mexico PPO Health Plan: SSA is available to employees who are enrolled in YCEBT Medical PPO Plan A and PPO Plan B. The SSA Plan pays 100% of hospital, medical, laboratory and prescription drug benefits, to a maximum of $5,000 per person per calendar year ($10,000 for two or more family members).
