For more information visit our website at: OVERVIEWProvides quality care to elderly or disabled adults within the scope of work of a Certified Nursing Assistant. Assists with daily living activities, meals, and supervised activities in a daytime non-residential facility. Models proper nutrition, cleanliness, and socialization skills for program clients. Ability to work in a dynamic environment is important for program services and growth. Position may from time to time be stressful and require a high demand of performance. May perform other duties as assigned.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProvides client personal care including bathing, skin care, hair care, oral hygiene, shaving, nail care only when applicable, as well as shaving and toiletingMaintains client stability by checking vital signs and weight; calculates and records fluid intake and outputAssists clients with transfers to and from wheelchair or other assisted devices; demonstrated proper use of gait belt when applicableProvides client comfort by exemplifying active listening, companionship, communication, utilization of resources and materials, providing emotional and social support, transporting patients, and answering client requestsObserves and reports any signs, symptoms, and/or changes in client mental, physical, emotional condition or home situation to leadership in timely mannerAssists or provides activities of daily living by serving meals and assisting with feeding when necessaryStrives to maintain a safe environment for clients through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of appropriate relationships with clientsCompletes required documentation, such as forms, reports, logs, and recordsProtects organization value and client privacy by maintaining confidentiality regarding client information Promotes and protects client rights, assists in the formulation of informed decisions, and supports independent expression and choiceReports suspected abuse or neglect to leadership, organization, and appropriate authorities immediately Maintains compliance with contractual requirements; professional standards; policies and procedures; federal, state, and local requirements; and Arizona Board of Nursing standardsProvides a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients and family membersPromotes client mental alertness through involvement in activities of interestPrepares snacks and meals according to planned menu and while observing all related Health Department and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) regulations and guidelines; ensures that dishes are washed and kitchen is clean after each mealRecords CACFP meal counts, served food according to guidelines, and ensures CACFP program complianceAssists in facility maintenance, including care and cleaning of indoor and outdoor spaceUpdates job knowledge by participating in staff meetings, client staffings, in-service and continuing education opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in professional organizations, and maintaining licensureMay drive agency or personal vehicle on company businessMay perform other duties as assignedMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSSuitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position and will be considered by the Executive Director of Human Resources.High School Diploma or GEDCurrent Arizona Certified Nursing Assistant credentialAbility to stoop, climb, bend, and reachAbility to lift 60 pounds up to 10% of the timeREGULATORYMust be at least 18 years of ageValid driver license, proof of insurance, and 39-month motor vehicle reportAbility to obtain and maintain Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and FBI National Criminal Records History Report (employer paid)Pass pre-employment drug screen (incudes marijuana, regardless of recreational use laws) (employer paid)Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid, Food Handlers Card, and TB certifications and clearancesDESIRED QUALIFICATIONSBilingual in English and Spanish, verbal and writtenAdditional years of directly related experienceThe above statement reflects the general duties considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent in the job.We are an Affirmative Action Equal Opportunity Employer for all individuals.
