Job Summary

NATURE OF WORK
Under general supervision, performs work of routine difficulty in monitoring and securing assigned premises as well as identify risks to staff and patrons; this position has department specific responsibility.
Nature of Work
(Illustrative Only) Provides the safety, accountability, health and welfare of employees, customers and the public; monitors the safety and security of premises to prevent theft, property damages, violence or infractions of rules; monitors and reviews security cameras for any suspicious activities or safety discrepancies. Manages security camera storage and responds to security footage request from authorized county personnel and law enforcement; monitors and authorizes entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises; conducts periodic interior and exterior security/safety tours of the premises to ensure the health and safety of employees and customers and to identify possible safety hazards in the workplace; thoroughly examines and inspects interior and exterior doors to ensure proper function and security; maintains records and writes reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons or unusual occurrences; responsible for access control to department facilities including proxy card requests, key control, security cameras and building security; assist the safety division with maintaining and updating department emergency response plans and procedures; mitigates disturbances, responds to requests for security, duress alarms, threats, assaults, emergency evacuations, and other situations that require security or medical attention and takes appropriate action; warns persons of rule infractions or violations; Notifies police or fire departments in case of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons; circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property; conducts quarterly testing of panic buttons and security alarm systems; assists with providing training on security/safety procedures; updates and maintains safety database for data collection in order to monitor the County's safety and security programs; prepares and presents safety and security related trainings; performs general research, completes special projects, and prepares reports as needed; assists with the radio organization, operations, inventory and procedures; ensures a safe passage for the public, elected officials, and candidates for office on their way to and from voting stations; to ensure a safety environment during elections is not breached and responsible for the security of voting materials from theft or misuse; provides excellent customer services to staff and voters; to ensure that voters and other guests remain in their designated area and do not cross barriers which leads to un-authorized areas; ensures that customers entering the building behave in a professional manner so as not to breach the secrecy of vote; answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during business hours, if applicable; assists with any evacuation procedures in the event of an emergency; may respond to emergency situations involving County equipment, facilities, operations, and employees; subject to "call in" during non-work hours in response to emergency situations; answers alarms and investigates disturbances; maintains high standards of confidentiality regarding employee information; performs routine clerical duties; regular and reliable attendance is required; performs other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education
High School Diploma or GED equivalent; AND three (3) years of safety and security, law enforcement, public safety or customer-intensive public service experience; must obtain certification as Basic Life Safety and CPR/AED provider within six (6) months of employment; must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license; requires successful completion of a background check.

Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity; generally the job requires 20% sitting, 60% walking and 20% standing; the job is performed under temperature variations and under extreme likelihood of verbal abuse from hostile and frustrated customers.

The YCEBT is a self-funded medical plan administered by BlueCross BlueShield of Arizona (BCBSAZ). The employee is able to select from three (3) medical plan options with six (6) tiers that will best suit the employee's needs, dependents or families.
Plan Option 1: Preferred Provider Option A (PPO) or PPO A 1100 deductible. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing three steps.
Plan Option 2: Preferred Provider Option B (PPO) or PPO B 1,500 deductible. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing three steps.
Plan Option 3: High Deductible High Plan - Health Savings Account (HDHP-HSA) with a 1700 deductible. Employees who participate in the " Wellness Incentive" will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing three steps.
Employer contributes a total of $800.04 to employees Health Savings Account. If employees select Employee only and participate in the " Wellness Incentive" employees can receive up to 360.00 contribution to a Limited Purpose FSA card to be used for medical or dental purposes.
Southwest Service Administrator (SSA) Mexico PPO Health Plan: SSA is available to employees who are enrolled in YCEBT Medical PPO Plan A and PPO Plan B. The SSA Plan pays 100% of hospital, medical, laboratory and prescription drug benefits, to a maximum of $5,000 per person per calendar year ($10,000 for two or more family members).
